It's all plain ol' HTML, CSS, and JavaScript! Probably a hot mess for anyone who actually knows what they're doing, but the important thing is that it works :)
Thank you!! Honestly, there are tons of tutorials and forums out there for web coding. Most of the interesting stuff going on is JavaScript. I did have a very small amount of previous experience, but this was a lot of "how do I do ____ in JavaScript/CSS/HTML?"
One tip, I use a second Blogger page set to private for testing things before posting them here. That way I can work out (most of) the bugs before you guys get to play with it :)
Excellent!! I was definitely worried I was sinking a bunch of time into something that nobody would care about, but looking at the page stats I think I'm going to have to more like this in the future :D
The trouble with interactives is that they're like multiple posts rolled into one, with the added requirement that the stories fit together. That said, they are fun to make and get by far the most reader traffic, so I'll definitely think about it if the right inspiration strikes.
This is just amazing! Technically, but also the content itself!
ReplyDeleteThanks!! My code is held together with duct tape and dreams, but I had lots of fun making this one.
DeleteThis is awesome, great work! May I ask, in which language did you code this?

I love the concept, and thanks for this work. Btw I know about a program named Twine for creating interactive stories/games without coding.
DeleteI'm still learning about it, but you should check it out :)
DeleteThis is damn good. I played with it for over 30 minutes!

DeleteUh-oh, looks like it is time to hit the gym before hubby gets home. He likes it a little sweaty.
